A factory GM engine has many parts. Its main parts work together to create the power that moves your vehicle. An engine block, for instance, is the main part of the motor. Combustion occurs inside it, producing that power. Pistons, for another example, pump up and down, compressing the engine's air/fuel mix as your spark plugs ignite it. Along with the crankshaft, they convert that energy to rotary motion, or rotation. Your transmission and driveshaft transfer that rotation to your tires, giving them spin.
