Original GM Lighting Accessories

Vehicle lights come in as many types as there are uses for lighting on the road and off. Headlights and taillights are the best-known. Headlights come in two varieties. Low-beam headlights are adequate for most illumination. High-beam headlights cast a wider beam and they're only for use when no traffic is oncoming. Taillights, or tail lamps, help drivers behind you see where and how far ahead you are. Just about all cars have daytime running lights. These also help other drivers better see you. All vehicles have signal lights. Also known as blinkers, these indicate to other drivers that you're turning soon. The same goes for brake lights, which signal that you're slowing or stopping. Hazard lights are just as common. These flashers warn other drivers that you've got a problem, you're in distress, or there's an immediate danger nearby. Higher car and truck trims can incorporate fog lights. These better illuminate the way during bad weather and shine low to help minimize glare. Trailer lights indicate to others the position of your load. There's even specialty lighting for accessories like license plates. Whatever lights your GM vehicle has, they're one of three types. Halogen is common in small cars. Sports cars' narrow headlight housings usually require Xenon or high-intensity discharge (HID) lights. These last longer and shine brighter. Finally, many newer cars have energy-efficient, low-heat LED lights. What kind of lights your vehicle has or needs depends on its body style. When to change car light bulbs also depends. Xenon bulbs can weaken over time. Replace them about every three years. If LED bulb electronics fail, you'll have to replace the whole unit, even if the bulb works. Change halogen bulbs every couple of years at least. Ordering the genuine GM lighting and light assembly kits your car or truck needs is easy. You can take care of it online, right here at our store!
