Radiators dissipate heat by fanning the hot coolant pushed through your engine. This helps prevent overheating. How do radiators work? Most consist of core blocks with flat aluminum tubes with fins. As coolant flows from their inlets to outlets, it's put under pressure by a cap. This maximizes the heat the coolant can absorb. The fins then release heat into the air.
